A free unit converter in your browser. It knows 704 units in 48 categories, from length, mass and temperature to currencies and water hardness, and it has size charts for clothes, shoes and rings. You don't need an account, and there is no advertising.
The home page: search box, category filters and a tile for every category.
How do I convert a value?
Open a converter, for example from a tile on the home page, and type your value into the box under Starting unit. The result under Destination unit changes as you type, and so does the page address, so you can bookmark or reload the page at any time.
The line under the result breaks it down, here into 6 ft 6 in 3/4 in. Where a single factor describes the conversion, the Conversion base line shows it in both directions. The arrows between the two boxes swap the units.
Converting 2 metres to feet.
How do I pick other units?
Choose them from the list above either box, or scroll down to Switch units: one column for each side, grouped into families of units. Type a few letters into the search field above a column to shorten it; “mi” leaves every unit with “mi” in its name or symbol.
The destination column narrowed down to “mi”.
Where can I learn more about a unit?
The Information box beside the converter names the category and its standard unit, links each unit to its Wikipedia article where there is one, and suggests related categories. At the bottom, All units A–Z opens the list of every unit.
The Information box for metres and feet.
Why do some conversions come with a note?
Where a conversion is easy to get wrong, a short explanation appears under the converter. The one shown here explains why a cup of flour and a cup of water don't weigh the same. Some units also carry a note of their own, right under their value.

Finding a converter
How do I find a converter quickly?
Type into the search box on the home page, or in the header of any other page. It finds categories, units by name or symbol, and size charts, and it updates the list as you type.
Move through the list with the arrow keys and press Enter to open the highlighted page, or Esc to close the list.
Searching for “foot”.
Can the search box convert directly?
Yes. Type an amount followed by a unit, such as “5 km” or “12.5 kg”, and the answer appears straight away in the most common units of that category. Switch units unfolds all the others, and every line opens the full converter with your value.
You can also say which unit you want, the way you would ask a person: “23 kg in pounds”, “23 lb = mg”, “how many feet in a mile” or “5 ft 3 in to cm”. That answer comes first, and Enter opens its converter.
The answer for “5 km”.
How do I browse the categories?
The home page has a tile for every category, and each tile opens its converter. The buttons above the tiles narrow them down to basic or other dimensions, or to topics such as Cooking, Mobility and Real estate; Size charts brings up the size charts.
The categories for Cooking.
Is there a list of all units?
All units A–Z lists all 704 units with their symbol, category and definition, each with a link to a converter. Filter it by name or symbol, or show a single category. It is linked from the home page, the footer and every Information box.
Every unit matching “gal”.
Can I see a value in every unit at once?
Yes. Click a unit's name in All units A–Z: its page converts one value into every other unit of the category. Change the value and all the rows follow; the arrow at the end of a row opens that converter with your value.
12 feet in all units of length.
Currencies and number systems
Can I convert currencies?
Yes, between 18 currencies, among them the euro, the US dollar, the pound sterling and the Swiss franc. The rates are the European Central Bank's reference rates, checked for updates every six hours, and each currency page states the day they apply to and when they were downloaded. Banks and card providers use rates of their own.

Can it convert Roman numerals or binary numbers?
Yes. The Number Systems category converts between decimal, binary, octal and hexadecimal numbers, binary-coded decimal and Roman numerals. Roman numerals go up to 10,000.
2026 as a Roman numeral.
Size charts
Does UnitJuggler have size charts?
Yes: clothing for women, men and children, as well as shoes, bras, hats, gloves, belts and rings. Size charts is linked from the home page and the footer, and the search box finds the charts too; try “shoes”.
The overview of the size charts.
How do I read a size chart?
Each row lines up one size across the size systems, such as EU, UK, US and Japanese sizes, together with the body measurement it fits, in centimetres with inches underneath. How to measure, below the tables, explains where to measure.
Every brand cuts a little differently, so where a brand publishes its own chart, go by that one.

Copying, sharing and links
How do I copy a result?
Click the result or the copy button beside it, and a short message confirms that it is on your clipboard. The conversion base, the values on a unit page and the page links copy the same way.
A result copied to the clipboard.
How do I share or bookmark a conversion?
The Permalink box holds two addresses: Link to this page, and Link to this page with the current value as soon as you enter a value other than 1. The button beside each one copies it; where your device can share, a second button opens its share menu.
The links to the conversion of 2 m.
Can I write a link to a conversion myself?
Yes. Converter addresses follow a readable pattern, and ?val= adds the value:
Each language words the pattern its own way, so a link always opens in its language. Search engines find every converter in /sitemap.xml, and /llms.txt explains the patterns to AI assistants.
Languages and display
Which languages is UnitJuggler available in?
30, all listed in the menu below. The globe at the top of every page switches the language and keeps you on the same page. Each language has its own addresses, so a link you share opens in the language you chose.

Does it support right-to-left scripts?
Yes. In Arabic, Persian and Urdu the whole page is mirrored, while numbers, unit symbols and results keep their left-to-right order.

Is there a dark mode?
Yes. UnitJuggler follows your device's light or dark setting. The moon and sun button at the top switches between the two, and your browser remembers the choice for this site.

Does it work on a phone?
Yes. On a small screen the boxes stack, the search opens from the magnifier at the top, and tapping a value box brings up the number keyboard.

App and offline use
Can I install UnitJuggler as an app?
Yes. Choose “Install app” or “Add to Home screen” in your browser's menu. The app gets its own icon and opens the home page in the language you installed it from; where your system supports it, the icon also offers shortcuts to popular converters.

Does UnitJuggler work offline?
Partly, if you have installed UnitJuggler as an app. The pages you opened most recently stay readable without a connection, results included. Converting a new value needs the internet, because the calculation runs on the server. A page you haven't opened before shows You are offline with a Try again button. Without the app installed, nothing is kept for offline reading.

Privacy and accuracy
Does UnitJuggler track me?
No. UnitJuggler loads no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts, and it sets no cookies of its own. There is nothing to consent to, so there is no cookie banner either.
The only thing kept in your browser is the light or dark theme you chose. Only if you install the app does your browser also keep the pages you read most recently, so that they open offline. Neither leaves your device. The server keeps the usual access log, which the privacy policy describes.
How accurate are the results?
Results are shown to 14 significant digits. Rounding can still show in the last digits, so double-check any result that matters. The footer says so too, and it links the legal notice, the privacy policy and the terms of use.
