Linear density converter

Yarn and fibre fineness is given as mass per length. The tex is the mass in grams of 1,000 m of yarn, the decitex (dtex) of 10,000 m, and the denier, older and still usual for hosiery and synthetic fibres, of 9,000 m; 1 den = 1.11 dtex. Sheer tights are 8–15 denier, opaque ones 40–100; a single silk filament is about 1 denier, human hair 20–50 denier.
